Old discussion[edit]
What version was the last version of Adobe Streamline? Robert Elliott 03:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, I had a version 4.0 Tryout of the program (as well as an illustrator 7 tryout and some 3d tryout from adobe) Colinstu 04:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I heard somewhere the Adobe wasn't allowed to incorporate streamline into another product for 10 years or something, based on their agreement when they originally bought streamline, but that CS2's Live Trace feature is the (now-allowed) inclusion of streamline IP into Illustrator. I don't remember where I read this, but it seemed like a legitimate source. If this is true, that info should be tracked down and added to this page. Streamline, and Live Trace, are truly the best way to vectorize raster graphics. Leaps and bounds ahead of any other product I've seen. --18.85.46.22 20:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Assignment discussion[edit]
I looked at the revision history for the Photoshop and Illustrator articles and contacted some of the editors on their talk pages. Hopefully some give this page a visit and can give some advice. JawS001313 (talk) 01:48, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Spent some time looking for evidence that CS2's Live Trace feature is the now-allowed inclusion of streamline IP into Illustrator (after the 10 year agreement User 18.85.46.22|18.85.46.22 described) but no articles I found delineated this. Agreed on the screenshot being extremely important. bnd24 (talk) 11:10, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
We need a screenshot of the software in order to provide a picture (I consider pictures to be extremely important). Can someone get a hold of the software, install it, and take one? JawS001313 (talk) 07:50, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Screenshot[edit]
For a screenshot of the software, I recommend first investigating the Wikimedia commons for a suitable image. if none can be found, a trial of streamline is available for mac on softpedia or windows at cnet download center. I hope this helps :D NotinREALITY 05:44, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Suggestions[edit]
Hello. I was asked to provide some suggestions for improvement by JawS001313 (talk·contribs).
- Add more context to the article. Currently for someone unfamiliar with the subject matter it's difficult to discern what exactly the purpose of the application was. I would provide some examples of why someone would have used Adobe Streamline.
- Provide more details as to the current program that has replaced the functionality of Streamline.
- Under the features heading it only lists those that were 'new to version 4.0.' This begs the question what features existed prior to version 4.0?
- Try to provide some more references to independent and reliable sources to prove its notability and make the article more reliable. Currently the links to Adobe's own website do not meet the Wikipedia's WP:IRS requirements.
- If you need a screenshot, you may want to try flickr. If you see a suitable image, check to make sure it has been released under a free license (i.e. CC-BY=SA, CC-BY, GNU or public domain) before uploading to Wikipedia. It would still be considered fair use due to Adobe's inherent copyright, so couldn't be uploaded to Commons. 20:53, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
This is a good start. Add more references (I see unreferenced paragraphs) and you can nominate your work at WP:DYK for front page exposure. Note that this nom has to be done within five days of the move (so, within five days of today). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 18:58, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
